2020 Was A Wild Ride

Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog on here.

I originally launched this in December 2019 as I prepared to go into my business full time in 2020! I posted a few times and then BAM a pandemic hit me in the face both personally and professionally.

Starting today my goal is to post 1 new blog every week! Topics will include things like entrepreneurship, female founders, books, tech, my nannying journey, business resources, and a lot of lessons learned along the way!

I’m also working on my Resources page to include a list of things you may find helpful: books, podcasts, venture funds, apps and tools I use, business accelerators, and more!

Here’s a recap to get you up to speed on my life!

I’ve been a full-time nanny for families in Fort Worth for the last 6 years and left nannying to go into the business full time in January 2020 when QuickSit was 5 months old.

Little did I know there was a pandemic around the corner that would hit me from all sides.

I’m sure I’m not alone when I say, 2020 was nothing that I expected.

But do you know who DID know what to expect in 2020?

He knew exactly what was about to happen. There is nothing that surprises Him in this world. Not a single thing. Ever.

2020 has forced me to pray some of my biggest prayers yet, both professionally and personally.

I was angry. I was confused. I cried a lot. And I doubted a lot.

I questioned if I had heard Him correctly when I left the stability of a job to go into a business that didn’t provide me a paycheck only to be hit with a pandemic.

I spent a lot of time in His Word and I journaled big, bold prayers for provision I desperately wanted.

And in 2020 I saw God provide like never before this year, but not exactly how I thought.

He provided on HIS timeline and in HIS own way.

He provided me with things I wouldn’t have thought to ask for and for THAT I’m beyond thankful.

I know it’s been a wild year for everyone, so let this be a reminder to you if you’ve forgotten:

God is not surprised by the things that have happened to you this year. He loves you and He is with you. Always.

Keep praying big prayers and keep your hands open to receive His provision on His timeline and His perfect way.

It’s now 2021 and I’m currently nannying for a family in Dallas, working to restore the wreckage the pandemic had on my new business, and putting more energy into building up my personal brand!

I hope my website is a place you can come to ride along on my journey in all things entrepreneurship and women in business. As well as find helpful resources and have a few laughs — probably at my expense!

Lessons Learned:

  1. Having a plan is great, but being flexible with the plan is even better.
  2. God’s plan is infinitely better because he can see what we cannot.
  3. You are never somewhere by accident, you are there for a purpose.

Tangible Tips:

  1. Surround yourself with a community that encourages you in the midst of chaos.
  2. Reach out to someone if you need help, whether it’s physical or emotional needs.
  3. Write out a gratitude list and add to it daily — use it to reflect on when life feels messy.
